Balloon sculpture: Sea Hoarses and an arch

Balloon sculpture: Sea Hoarses and an arch

The best way to theme a party is to use big balloon sculptures.  Especially something that most guests have never seen before.

This is a second birthday party of a very special lady.  Special enough to have these 8′ seahorses, a 10′ anchor and three octopuses (just wait for the next post!).  Did you get something like that when you were two???

Just a suggestion: if you have an outside party and balloon sculptures are outside, have something (I suggest a cloth drop that painters use to cover the floor) to cover them to protect against the sun, or place the sculpture in the shade.  Hot summer sun kills white balloons in a matter of hours, colored balloons – much faster, black balloons – within half an hour.

Another concern is wind.  If the spot is windy – the balloon sculpture is like a sail on a boat.  Keep it in mind when you plan where to place it.  It is nice to secure it to something very solid and heavy, like a house.  If there is nothing there, a heavy spike in the ground will do the trick.

These are extremely cool! Did they last through the entire party?

    Taly,

The sculptures on the frame last forever! Well, 2 weeks is forever in our industry, isn’t it? If you do it outside however, it really depends on the weather. If you plan on having a sculpture on direct sun – it better be made of white balloons!
